ASC Infection Control Consultant Phenelle Segal to Present at Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgical Centers Conference

Phenelle Segal, founder of Infection Control Consulting Services (ICCS), will be presenting at the upcoming Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgical Centers (FSASC) Quality and Risk Management Conference.

The 2015 FSASC Quality and Risk Management Conference takes place April 9-10, 2015, at the Renaissance Orlando at Sea World.

Phenelle will be presenting on "Infection Prevention: A QAPI Approach" at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9.

Her session is described as follows: Federal, state and accreditation agencies require a thorough Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program in the ASC setting. A well designed QAPI program, adhering to specific standards including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Conditions for Coverage provides assurance of the quality as well as safety of services provided by facilities. This  session will discuss how an infection prevention program ties into the QAPI program and will highlight and define terms that are common to both programs such as risk assessment, quality measures, data-processing and accountability.
